It's been a bit of a rollarcoaster ride with our dear Nessie lately. A few weeks ago, Lulu spread a bad cold to Nessie and for about 2 weeks, she hardly slept. She was waking up every night around 1am. She was unhappy and cried a lot! She was also going through a stage where she'd sit up in her crib immediately after waking and wouldn't lie back down. Thankfully, that micro-stage and illness passed and all is back to normal. We've even moved up her bedtime to 8pm!!!!!

I've never seen Lulu have so much fun at a museum as she had today at The Metropolitan Museum of Art. What fun it was to watch her run around and get so animated about art. Her favorite was a Renoir, The Daughters of Catulle Mendes (she picked out that postcard at the gift shop) but also fell in love with the Degas' princesses!!! It was really darling listening to her comments - she was sooo giddy!!!

Yes, I'm talking about Nessie. She is wild. Like, 2 matching bumps on her forehead wild. She screams and whines to complain. She is constantly making noise and expressing "her opinion". When she doesn't like a food I feed her, she gags and then throws it up. She pushes you away when she doesn't want something. She screams when you put her in her stroller (but then is perfectly happy once she's outside in the action filled streets). She loves to watch TV. She also doesn't like to sleep at night -- she'll wake up, immediately sit up in her crib, nurse and then be awake for a long long time. So last night, to the delight of our building, I let her "scream it out" (literally) for 1 hour (literally) until she fell asleep. It was great.
She sure is cute though!!!!! :-)

We hopped on over to the 'burbs of Westchester County (a 45 minute drive north of NYC) to go trick-or-treating with old friends from SF, the Rosengardens. What a classic American Halloween! The girls had a ball! It was perfect!

Nessie loved squooshing the pumpkin mash in her hands and emptying the bowl of innards onto the blanket. She ended up in tears though after I scolded her too much for trying to eat the pumpkin mash. Lulu (Meowsy II, always with camera in hand) couldn't miss these great shots.

We arrived home at 11:30pm. In the past half hour, Lulu's had a dance party with Elmo, a picnic, painted a self portrait and made a "cometita" (a little kite). It's now midnight and Lulu is playing playdough and throwing her doll Amy a birthday party. I think she is very happy to be home and you gotta love jet lag with kids! Nessie is still partying away too, even though she's only slept a total of 1/2 hour today (on the way to LAX). Help, Mama is TIRED!!!!!
